Whimsical Line

A new chapter in my glass fusing journey.  My work took a turn for the whimsical when I wasn’t paying attention.  With that turn, I regained much of the inspiration I had been feeling I lost. Click on an image to see the zoom in.  The ones not in oak bases are self standing; the glass folds back to create a stand.

Each unique design is created using so many wonderful things like hand pulled murrini, molded glass elements, and hand drawn lampwork stems. The molded elements – like the cats and butterflies – are created using glass powders and Layering Medium mixed together and poured into silicone molds. After drying, I pop out the elements and fire them in the kiln before they are ready to be incorporated into my little art pieces.

A bigger format using some of the same elements as seen in the floral sprays. All are created with their own self stand.

These sheep keep us giggling in the studio. Frolicking sheep jumping high and doing back flips. Each comes with its own oak stand.

These birdies got attitude!  Families of birdies each with their own quirks and facial expressions. They are 4×6″ and come with an oak base.

A trio of owls using enamels as body paint. These owls are 4×6″ and come with an oak base.

A trio of bewildered chickens. 4×6″ and comes with its own oak stand.

Fused Glass houses using everything in the studio. Each one built one of a kind and comes with a 2″ oak stand. They range from 4″ -6″ tall.
